When to Plant
Foxgloves are cool-season plants that establish beautifully during cooler weather.
Zones 4–9: Plant in fall and allow plants to establish before winter. Dalmatian foxgloves are cold hardy and can overwinter outdoors in these zones. A layer of mulch can provide additional protection for young plants in colder regions.
Zones 10+: Plant in fall for growth and flowering during the coolest part of the season. Foxgloves prefer cool temperatures and may struggle in prolonged summer heat.
These recommendations are intended as a growing guide; winter survival can vary depending on your climate, weather conditions, and the protection provided.
