When to Plant

Matricaria is a cool-season flower that grows best during mild temperatures.

Zones 7+: Fall planting is ideal. Plants can establish through the cooler months for an early and abundant spring harvest.

Zones 6 and below: Fall planting may be possible with winter protection, but plants should be protected from hard freezes with frost cloth, low tunnels, a hoop house, or an unheated greenhouse.
